Spaghetti squash spaghetti

Spaghetti squash spaghetti

Do you know what spaghetti squash is? Its content looks as if it is spaghetti! though it's exactly squash, and tastes like, yes, squash. As I knew this squash from the conversation with my friend in Canada, I was surprised, one memory just came up to my mind. I thought it sounds familiar, I must have had it before in Japan:) One day, my mom bought a strange gourd, she called that "Soumen Uri", which means "Thin wheat noodles gourd". ( that noodles is very popular as real feeling summer food in Japan) Anyway, we had the strange gourd as a "Sunomono" / vinegared gourd, kind of quickly prepared pickles. I remembered.... I was impressed by the name, "Soumen"="Spaghetti" and, "Uri"="Squash". They are almost same meaning, but different words. now, I can say they're the same! from wikipedia:) and also this is the best healthiest meal ever! we don't have to have gluten with spaghetti.

After baked the spaghetti squash, scooped out.

Recipe

Serving for 2
二人分
Ingredients

moderate tomato sauce for two portion/ トマトソース 二人分の適量
1tbsp Olive oil /
1clove garlic /
Parmigiano reggiano /

Preheat the oven to 170˚C / 340˚F

Cut a middle sized spaghetti squash in half lengthwise, scoop out seeds and gut from it,  and bake for 40minutes or until soft in oven.

After baked the squash, scoop out inside with a spoon. Heat a pan with olive oil, saute garlic and the spaghetti squash, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Serve in dishes, pour warm tomato sauce on it, and grind parmigiano reggiano.
